The 2026 Web3 salary report: what builders actually earn
Aggregated escrow data from ScopeCred plus public bounty rates. Solana devs, Solidity auditors, ZK engineers, wallet UX designers — real numbers.
We aggregated 1,847 completed contracts from ScopeCred's beta cohort plus public bounty data from Cantina, Sherlock, Superteam and Gitcoin. Here are the ranges — in USDC, per calendar-day of work.
Solana engineers (Anchor + Rust)
- Junior (0-2y): $450-750/day
- Mid (2-4y): $700-1,200/day
- Senior (4y+): $1,100-2,000/day
- Contract migration & CPI: $1,400-2,200/day (premium for security-critical work)
Solidity engineers
- Junior: $500-800/day
- Mid: $900-1,400/day
- Senior: $1,300-2,400/day
- Security-audit rate: $3,000-8,000/day (Cantina/Sherlock top-tier)
ZK engineers (Circom, Halo2, RISC0)
- Applied ZK: $1,500-3,500/day — deep talent scarcity
- Circuit design: $2,500-5,000/day
Wallet & app UX designers
- Mid: $500-900/day
- Senior with published case-studies: $1,000-1,800/day
Product managers / community
- DevRel with technical depth: $400-1,000/day
- DAO ops: $300-700/day (often part-time)
How to read this
These are market-clearing rates on ScopeCred — the price at which offers get accepted within 7 days. Not what people ask for, what they get paid.
Three observations:
1. Web3 pays a 30-60% premium over comparable Web2 roles at the senior end. The gap widens with specialisation.
2. Verified skills add ~20% on average to bid win-rate. A peer_verified: Solidity skill converts 3× better than self-claimed.
3. Chains matter less than you think. Solana vs. EVM rates are within 5% for equivalent seniority. Pick the tech you enjoy.
Methodology
- Sample: 1,847 accepted proposals with completed milestone payouts, Jan–Jun 2026.
- Currency: all figures converted to USDC at time of escrow-fund via CoinGecko rates.
- Not adjusted for cost of living — rates are global remote market.
